Remake 0.31 (announced 23 Oct 2026)

The newest Remake update, from the creator’s announcement:

• New plants: Coffee Plantern, Magnet Flower Pot, Potato Shell and Coffee Flower Pot (white cards), Sea King Seaweed (gold), Brainstorm and Holographic Imitater (diamond), Fortune God Box (rainbow), and Holographic Twin Sunflower (purple upgrade).
• 12 zombies, including Clover Balloon zombies, an Explosive Nut zombie, a Dark Mechanical Kangaroo and Flash-mob Disco zombies.
• Quality of life: card cooldown timers, shop and almanac buttons on the card-select screen, and fewer accidental taps.
• Modding: mod.json is now validated (author, modid and version are required), and the Level Editor has a “Mod plants” category.
• Level makers can now limit card slots and set a maximum amount of sun.

Classic 3.19 (announced 21 Sep 2026)

Adds Holographic Laser Wall-nut, Holographic Cactus and Gene Ice-shroom, plus an Alien Zombie Ship, Alien Zombie and Newspaper Gargantuar. It also fixes a crash caused by Torchwood.

10 Oct 2026 – Remake 0.30: Magic Garden expands

• New pool maps for the Magic Garden chapter.
• Stages 10-11 to 10-20 added.
• 10 new plants and 10 new zombies.
• Sandbox battles mode.
• Balance and combat updates; improved save loading.
• Level Editor 0.30 released alongside.

Should you update? Yes, if you are on any older Remake build. Back up first and install into a new folder on PC.

25 Sep 2026 – Remake 0.29: Magic Garden Part I

• Magic Garden Part I chapter.
• 10 white-card plants and eight zombies.
• The Sealing Shovel tool.
• MOD levels.
• Combat and level-completion fixes.

19 Sep 2026 – Remake 0.28.1

An updated 0.28 build for Windows and Android, provided by editing the original 0.28 announcement. No separate list of 0.28.1 changes was published; treat it as a follow-up build of 0.28.

12 Sep 2026 – Remake 0.28: Riverside Lawn

• New plant cards and zombies.
• Riverside Lawn maps.
• Plant challenges and Daily Challenge improvements.
• Smaller package size and performance updates.
• Combat fixes.

29 Aug 2026 – Remake 0.27: Experimental Base continues

• New plants, zombies, stages and skins for Experimental Base.
• A boss health bar.
• Performance improvements and bug fixes.

22 Aug 2026 – Remake 0.26.1

Maintenance update focused on known bugs and game experience after 0.26.

16 Aug 2026 – Remake 0.26: Experimental Base

• Introduces the Experimental Base chapter.
• New plants and enemies.
• Additional maps and tools.

25 Jul 2026 – Classic 3.18

• Expanded plant roster.
• Expanded Space-Time Secret Realm.
• Balance changes and bug fixes.

9 May 2026 – Classic 3.17

• New plants, zombies and levels for the Classic branch.

The Remake chapters so far

If you are returning after a break, here is how the 2026 Remake updates fit together. The Experimental Base chapter arrived in 0.26 and was extended in 0.27 with more stages, skins and a boss health bar. Version 0.28 moved the action to Riverside Lawn maps and added plant challenges and a better Daily Challenge. Version 0.29 opened Magic Garden Part I with white-card plants and the Sealing Shovel, and 0.30 completed the next stretch of Magic Garden with pool maps and stages 10-11 to 10-20. Each step assumes the plants you unlocked in earlier chapters, so playing in order gives the smoothest difficulty curve.

How often does PvZ Hybrid update?

In 2026 the Remake has updated roughly every one to two weeks: 0.26 in mid-August, then 0.26.1, 0.27, 0.28, 0.28.1, 0.29 and 0.30 by 10 October. Classic updates less often, with 3.17 in May and 3.18 in July. There is no fixed schedule; the creator announces releases on Bilibili when they are ready.

Is there a new PvZ Hybrid update coming?

We do not publish rumours or fake release dates. When the creator announces the next Remake or Classic version, we will add it here with its real announcement date. Beware of sites and videos offering “0.31” or “3.19” downloads before an official announcement; these are usually renamed old builds or malware.

How to update PvZ Hybrid

Windows (Remake)

1. Download the new ZIP and check its SHA-256.
2. Extract to a new folder; do not overwrite the old version.
3. Launch, confirm your progress loads, then delete the old folder if you like.

Windows (Classic)

1. Back up %ProgramData%\Popcap Games\PlantsVsZombies\pvzHE\yourdata.
2. Run the new installer into a new folder.
3. Launch from the launcher and check your saves.

Android (Remake)

1. Download the new APK.
2. Install it over the existing app. Do not uninstall first.
